General Pathology  department in Saveetha Dental College academics includes UG curriculum for second year BDS.

Interdisciplinary programme with oral pathology postgraduates we have Cytopathology Fellowship Program.

UG CURRICULUM

General pathology theory classes include cellular pathology, tissue pathology, immunology, cancer pathology and hematology.
Practical classes include urine examination, hematology examinations and interpretation of lab reports.
Curriculum includes MILA pattern of teaching.( 3 batches/3 teachers/ 3 modules/ 30 minutes lecture with 1hr activity and 30 minutes of assessment completes 1 class)
ipad based learning system for both theory and practicals.

As the undergraduate students are struggling to get through in NEET exams for postgraduation, a future targetting innovation Fill Ups based exam pattern is followed by our institute. with this the students can understand the concepts in depth and the subject becomes a piece of cake for them after the course. Around 5% of the alumnis has joined in our institute in different postgraduation courses through NEET.

 

CYTOPATHOLOGY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

The objective of this fellowship is to widen the scope of the oral pathology postgraduates, to improve their cognitive, diagnostic and reporting skills with regard to all possible Cytopathological samples.
It is the first Interdisciplinary program ever designed for oral pathology postgraduates across the country.
 Topics of the course are,
Module-1:
•    General cytology techniques , 
•    Cervical cytology,
Module -2:
•    Fluid cytology,
Module- 3:
•    Systemic cytopathology which includes breast ,lymph node and
Respiratory cytology.
