STAR Summit 2023

The Saveetha Transdisciplinary Annual Research Summit was conducted from June 12 to June 16 at Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals in Chennai. This year's event was an enormous success with our department showcasing 87 posters. The judges and judges were ecstatic to witness such bright young minds present their research concepts. The students received 22 awards for their outstanding presentation abilities.

STAR Summit 2022

Saveetha Transdisciplinary Annual Research Summit was held from 23rd of June to 1st of July in Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Chennai. The event was a grand success; our department displayed 104 posters this year. The judges and the Peer judges were thrilled to see young minds present their research topics. 26 awards were given to the students for their excellent presentation skills.

The department has also won the award for “Best Research Department” and Dr. Palati Sinduja won the award for the “Most projects guided by basic medical science faculty”.

Research Output

The Department of Pathology is actively engaged in research, which has been translated into several publications. Between 2010 to 2022, the department has published 275 scientific papers in indexed journals.

The department encourages undergraduate students to take up research projects as part of academic activity. The student research studies are focused on basic areas to translation applicability. In addition, the faculties are conducting animal research studies and Nano technology in the field of pathology.

RESEARCH NEWS

Researchers developed Plant mediated Nano-hydroxyapatite gel for Wound Healing.

Dr. R. Priyadharshini and Dr. Rajesh Kumar at Saveetha Dental College & Hospitals developed a gel for wound healing. They conducted a study in Zebrafish using Tridax Procumbans based hydroxy apatite nanoparticles to evaluate the reepithelization and collagen formation.


Research Society meeting:(RSM)

The 64th Research Society Meeting for the month of December was held on 30.12.2021. A total of 5 research papers were presented, of which the Best Paper was awarded to Shabbarish Chockalingam, UG Student from the Department of General Pathology, for his paper entitled “Significance of bite marks as a valid piece of evidence throughout history: a retrospective study”.

STAR SUMMIT 2020

We the Department of Pathology proudly presented the our Over all 75 Research works for the academic year 2020 in the STAR SUMMIT held at Saveetha Dental College from 6th to 9th of January 2020. The research works were very well appreciated by the judges and peer judges. We had 6 sessions of Poster presentation, each session was validated by separate judges and three best posters were selected from each session. Totally 18 Best Poster awards were achieved by our beloved students.
